Joshua Aguirre  00:02

He was the security guard that was on patrol in that Plaza. And he was big into photography. So one day he like took a photo of the sky because he saw this like, white dot just not moving and you know, big blue sky. And later on, he zoomed in, and that was like helicopters flying around this, like oval shaped like UFO shaped thing. And he called the FAA and was like, hey, was there any flights in this area at this time? And the FAA was like, no, like, there was no record of flights. And come to find out. It’s the same area overhead where I experienced this bizarre family from out of this world.

Hillary Merwin  00:43

So what the heck happened with these Radio Shack aliens?

Joshua Aguirre  00:48

One family walked in, I left to go to the back office. And when I looked on the camera, I saw them all go to four corners of the store. I was like, That’s odd. So I went back out. And right before my eyes, these four family members like turn toward each other in unison. And after they turned toward each other, they made the weirdest sound at the same time. It wasn’t like they were joking around. They never broke character. I immediately ran to the back office and saw Jerome and I was like drunk. Look at the security camera. Look at this frickin aliens.

Jerome Pace  01:28

believe anybody was being truthful.

Joshua Aguirre  01:32

And by the time he looked at the security camera, they had walked out of the store.

Valery Aguirre  01:39

I’ve never encountered aliens myself. But that would be wild or something like

Hillary Merwin  01:43

that. When again, you didn’t work in RadioShack in the early 2000s.

Valery Aguirre  01:46

Exactly. So there are only aliens were only around the early 2000s RadioShack. Let’s get back to it. Anywho. Yeah,

Hillary Merwin  01:55

can you give us the intro bow? Yeah, go set.

Valery Aguirre  01:59

Hillary Merwin  02:23

We’re your hosts. I’m Hal, and I’m bow and we’re here with Joshua, serial entrepreneur, freelance coach and

Valery Aguirre  02:30

scroller squirrel. Hey, guys,

Joshua Aguirre  02:33

I did nurse a squirrel back to health after it fell from my room.

Hillary Merwin  02:38

Did you give it a name?

Joshua Aguirre  02:40

I did. It was too.

Valery Aguirre  02:43

Is that French? Last episode, we were talking with a live analysis recap a little bit what that was,

Joshua Aguirre  02:51

okay, there’s two things that you need to know when you’re building a successful business. Do you have product market fit? And do you know how to market that product market fit? If you have product market fit, which is what the last episode talked about? Then we need to know how you’re going to advertise that.

Hillary Merwin  03:09

So it’s not necessarily part two of the lamb analysis. But rather you’re saying there’s these two essential questions you have to answer, which is do a product market fit? And then the part we’re gonna talk about today, which is how do I market that?

Joshua Aguirre  03:23

Yeah, because most people that have product market fit, like I mentioned in the last episode, there’s companies that are in existence that haven’t like refined their product market fit, but it doesn’t mean that they’re not successful. And so they’re running their business, but they don’t know how to market their business. And when you are they successful, they’re successful because they have people coming in through word of mouth or they’re in a good location or whatever, but they start doing these marketing things.

Valery Aguirre  03:51

They’re probably cutting themselves short because they could be more successful with a more defined

Joshua Aguirre  03:56

Yeah, okay. Yeah, exactly. Like a stronger marketing strategy is grounded in very solid product market fit. And if you don’t have a company yet and you develop your product market fit, and you say, Okay, this is a viable idea, then you need a go to market strategy. Okay,

Hillary Merwin  04:17

so what does someone need to start their go to market strategy?

Joshua Aguirre  04:21

They need Can I help you? Oh, gosh. Sorry, guys.

Joshua Aguirre  04:26

They need the it sounds like you guys could use somehow I know we’re good. Cheese.

Valery Aguirre  04:32

keeps interrupting calling George.

Joshua Aguirre  04:37

Hello. Oh, yeah. Hey, George. Hey, George. Sorry about that. Hey, guys,

Jorge Luis Tellez Lopez  04:45

what’s up? Our phone

Joshua Aguirre  04:47

has a mind of its own.

Valery Aguirre  04:49

Well, why don’t we have you here? Why don’t you introduce yourself?

Jorge Luis Tellez Lopez  04:52

Well, hello. My name is George TELUS AutoHotKey pages in Spanien. I am a creative and Agent of innovation, I love always being working on figuring out ways to fix problems for companies. And always thinking out of the box is going to like I will say my superpowers. I used to work for agencies in Colombia for many years, what specifically

Hillary Merwin  05:18

drove you to get into the field that you’re in right now, a moment or an experience? What drove you?

Jorge Luis Tellez Lopez  05:27

Well, the thing that I love the most to do in life is creating stuff. Since I was little, I’ve been happy to, to see what what is the other way of doing stuff. I love the term life hacking. Because it allows me to, like think out of the box, since little I love to draw I love to pain to, like play with clay, connect the dots, like Gree, like create this connection between things that maybe are not naturally connected, like an experience, VR experience, we now have feedback from the customer in social media, or maybe create video, audio visual is super important for me as well,

Valery Aguirre  06:15

did anything in particular really inspire you to start your company.

Jorge Luis Tellez Lopez  06:19

In the beginning, when I started in Colombia, it was 2015, I was working for a big advertising company group. And I was able to work with brands, make campaigns with high budgets, and I was so happy doing it. But at the same time, it was like finding a new way to, to make these projects for something and also helps the world because actually, I was working with companies like alcoholic beverages, and maybe things that maybe weren’t the most ethical. So I didn’t share the values. So I always wanted to be like, understand how I can also work but at the same time, believe in the brands I was helping, but with my company, definitely I was able to make those decisions. And actually, one of the key things that I had in my mind is the best campaign that I’ve done is the no more abundant tires campaign, because I was able to put multimedia BDO like a lot of different, like assets towards the, towards helping the environment and the tire recycling process in my country. So it was a really nice campaign. I love doing things for nonprofits. So it’s been nice, because now that I am understates, I definitely want to creating the same scenery that he used to have in Colombia, or now with my customers in the US. I think for

Joshua Aguirre  07:52

those listeners that don’t know, your company is named Smash, you created smash in in Bogota, Colombia, and then you moved here to the States with your family. And now you recreated your company over here. So we’ll we’ll actually leave a link in the show notes to your company and your campaign for no loss. Yatta is upon us.

Jorge Luis Tellez Lopez  08:17

Great. Thank you.

Valery Aguirre  08:19

If you could recall back your first day when he started working with invents labs.

Hillary Merwin  08:23

Just for some quick context, Joshua started invents labs 10 years ago. It’s a mission minded company that supports entrepreneurs who are pursuing their passions and have the potential to impact the world. You’ll hear more about it coming up later.

Valery Aguirre  08:36

What was that? Like? Any of your expectations? Do you recall,

Jorge Luis Tellez Lopez  08:40

one of the things that I love working with events is of course, culture. That is something that only normally years working for big companies and small companies, agencies. I saw some of that, but it wasn’t like in us in a beautiful frame, as in best has it is really, it’s been really nice to see how immense cares about people, not only for customers, not only for sales, not only for growth, but they care, they really care about people and how to create a really good work environment for the people that actually produces all the solutions for all their customers. And actually on in these years that I’ve been working, I definitely have found that if you care about people in your company, the people in your company will care for the customer. So definitely, that’s something that I have. I have seen that events and that’s one of the things that is being in my heart since we started and is how to definitely have these human feeling and human purpose inside of the company. We’ve been working in several projects related to video production Multimedia Production digital campaign. And, and yeah, my company is basically working in creativity, design, animation, video production and brand awareness. And one of the things that I love from smash the we are, are able to connect with, like medical fields and working with engineers in other side in another day working with architects and even sometimes create new channels, sometimes we have created new mediums to contact with their customers and to provide solutions that allow them to showcase their products and services.

Hillary Merwin  10:34

Yeah, so we’re in this part of the podcast, we’re trying to unpack like the lamb analysis, and how that helps people starting businesses already have their businesses understand how to take their product to the market. Was that process something new or different for you? Like, what was your experience with the lamb analysis?

Jorge Luis Tellez Lopez  10:57

Well, the lamb analysis is a great tool. I have seen similar tools in the marketplace, tools that are focused on results. But I think that is a really good system. And I think that peep more more companies should start implementing the LAM analysis. So they can have a clearer picture to see the pattern of the company, because sometimes, and the reason that it’s something that I have realized, also working with advanced, there’s a lot of companies that they just do stuff now, but they don’t know what it’s really the picture that they want to paint for the company. They don’t have clarity about the unique value proposition. And this is the best way to achieve that.

Joshua Aguirre  11:43

How does the lamb analysis help improve marketing?

Jorge Luis Tellez Lopez  11:46

I think that the laminar analysis is a really good tool to for marketing. Because if you understand your customer, any any view again, if you understand your value proposition in a really good way, you are going to be able to understand the essence of your business. When you understand the essence of your business, you don’t have competition. And that’s great, because you you stop focusing just what others do, and what how others embrace marketing. But maybe you are missing one part of your marketing, because you’re so focused on and do what others do that you’re missing. Maybe what is the best way to achieve your dream customer, sometimes even with the lamb, you can find that even Dude, you’re not following or you’re not giving the right message.

Joshua Aguirre  12:38

So So George, can you tell us what you know, to be true about marketing strategies?

Jorge Luis Tellez Lopez  12:45

Well, one of the things that I have found with my customers is that they have all wrong, what is marketing about, like, I have changed my mind a lot about marketing. Because before I was doing it from a more designer perspective, so I wanted to do brands, beautiful, I wanted to do really creative strategies and everything. But I was not focusing enough on the objectives or the sales, marketing is just spotlight that brings attention from to your customers,

Joshua Aguirre  13:25

in your experience, why don’t businesses typically see results in their marketing

Jorge Luis Tellez Lopez  13:31

is because they have the base wrong is maybe they’re not understanding their audience. They don’t have the proper channels to showcase their messages. And other things, they don’t have a clear message, they don’t have a clear voice. So they confused their audience. They’re not using proper storytelling to tell their people and their users, how they’re gonna change their life, how they’re going to solve their problem. They don’t have a correct way to showcase against their competition. What what marketing does is basically scale what you’re doing right? If you’re doing things wrong, marketing is going to kill things that you’re doing wrong. So he’s not gonna be effective.

Joshua Aguirre  14:15

I wrote down three things that you said you said that businesses who don’t see their results in their marketing don’t have the right audience, the right channels, the right message, they don’t know their competitors really well and kind of like what separates themselves from the competition. And so what I want to draw back to here is the Lamb analysis because that’s what we were talking about last episode and how this kind of sets the foundation for what you call a base I call it business model. You know, we have a proper understanding of who the customer is and your case, who the audience is, and what is the message that we’re communicating. We call that message the elevator pitch. And the competitors, like the analysis of the competitors, is sometimes. So there’s such a fine line between competitor and partner, because as you begin to identify how you solve a problem for your customer in a unique way, you’re going to come up with more customers more problems and more solutions. And this starts to represent these, the foundations of your business model. And then you move into identifying competition and seeing like, Okay, who is serving this same customer in the same exact way that I want to? And what are their key traits. So if you turn on, like, the empathy for your customer, and try to really put yourself in their shoes, understanding your message, from their perspective, you can see the type of channels that they would hear that message in, like you can visualize that a little bit better. And so I think that that’s where most people that most businesses that I work with, I see they missed the mark is they’re fishing in the wrong pond. You know, they’re they’re saying the message in the right way, but they’re in the wrong channel, or they’re in the right channel, but they’re not saying the message the right way, because it’s not differentiating themselves enough from their competition. Yeah,

Valery Aguirre  16:18

I love how Joshua you don’t you don’t stick within certain parameters. You definitely think outside the box. Kind of like the days back in high school that you mentioned with Sherman’s class where you went through the whole photoshopping the way you want it to not your assignment. Yeah,

Hillary Merwin  16:33

I really want to know, please give us an example of something you photoshopped.

Valery Aguirre  16:37

What was the worst Photoshop thing you’ve done? That was deliberate, but it was awful.

Joshua Aguirre  16:42

Well, I did the Photoshop some press passes one time, so that I could sneak past security. That’s so funny. Oh, my gosh, and security didn’t even give us a second look. Like they just assumed we got the camera equipment. We got press passes on. We’re legitimate.

Hillary Merwin  16:58

Nice.

Valery Aguirre  16:59

That security person is like he’s fired. Fired.

Hillary Merwin  17:03

Fired. Yeah. Speaking of getting fired. Let’s talk about getting hired. Nice segue. We’re gonna say goodbye to George for just a few minutes, but stick around till the end, because he’ll come back to share more of his expertise and life experience. It’s pretty inspiring. But for now, we’re jumping back into Joshua’s story and where we last left him. He is about to get a job at one of the best what would you call it? A

Valery Aguirre  17:31

the the early start of like those techie stores, right? Like techie,

Hillary Merwin  17:40

he’s about to get a job at RadioShack, electronics store and electronic store. So let’s dive back into that. After a short stint as a Publix bag boy, where he learned the value of customer service, Joshua landed a job at RadioShack, the first iPhone had just been released, this technology was booming. So where people’s confusion with how to use it. RadioShack was the perfect place to exercise his skills and teach people about what he knew.

Joshua Aguirre  18:09

I fell in love with RadioShack, just because I was already in love with technology. And it allowed me to learn more about different types of technology. And a lot of the people that came into the store were pretty technically illiterate. And so I would be happy and fulfilled helping them with different technical questions.

Hillary Merwin  18:29

Even though Josh would love to being immersed in the world of technology, some pieces of the puzzle just didn’t feel right.

Joshua Aguirre  18:35

I didn’t really like upper management at RadioShack because they wouldn’t let me advance unless I sold more cell phones,

Hillary Merwin  18:42

the more Nokia

Valery Aguirre  18:44

what were those little ones at the snake game,

Hillary Merwin  18:47

the only sneaky snake PacMan.

Joshua Aguirre  18:49

But even though upper management’s had, I would call it a poor culture. The management that I was directly under had an amazing culture.

Jerome Pace  19:01

When I first met Josh, I thought he was just a physical, white boy.

Hillary Merwin  19:07

That’s Jerome he was Josh was store manager at RadioShack.

Jerome Pace  19:11

You know, when I met him, he was us young. And the thing that stuck out to me about Josh was, or that made me feel differently about Josh was, he felt more like a son. I didn’t think when I first met Josh, I didn’t think that we would have a connection. But Josh came to me and he wants to learn more.

Hillary Merwin  19:29

Jerome became one of Josh’s early mentors and the to developed a friendship. He also runs a successful business called paste Express, that’s P A C. E Express, and works with local businesses that need shipping on the East Coast. We’ll give you his LinkedIn and the show notes in case you want to reach out

Jerome Pace  19:46

and that’s what changed our relationship. He wanted to kind of better his current situation and just interacting with DJI on a day to day basis kind of helped We understand that, you know, it was, I guess the best way I can say it was, I was happy to meet Josh at the time. And at that I did, because I wish that I could have met somebody at that same age and time for myself. So when me and John started talking, it just kind of flowed naturally. And I remember myself when I was younger, I wanted to know as much as I could, when it came to my work. So I was kind of annoying in a way. And when I thought about Josh, he kind of reminded me of myself, because Josh was, he was a little annoyed me and just kind of relationship changed after that. And the friendships develop the respect and a mutual bond develop, because a first impression or perception with judgment, you know, like data that I manage now, versus finding out that judge is actually Hispanic. And Josh

Valery Aguirre  20:55

loves it. By the way, as soon as you said, Oh, and he was Hispanic, or I found out he was Hispanic, Josh was like, you’re like,

Hillary Merwin  21:01

yes, this chest puffed up a little bit. Yeah.

Joshua Aguirre  21:08

Yeah, so I went from that to kind of starting to see opportunity. I saw all these people who had technical problems, and they needed more help. So because I knew Photoshop, I designed some business cards, and I would start handing out like computer repair business cards under my name.

Valery Aguirre  21:26

So just to be clear, you’re just finding that opportunity you’ve gotten bit by the entrepreneurial bug.

Joshua Aguirre  21:33

Yeah, so RadioShack, at the time, didn’t offer anything like Best Buy’s Geek Squad, they didn’t go out to your house and fix your computers or set up your printer. And I saw an opportunity there to serve radio checks, customers. And from then on, like, my brain just started to see opportunity, everywhere. So as people were walking in and talking about different technologies, as I was playing with different components in the store, you know, I could see that there was a lot of possibility and creating. I thought this was a great idea. Nobody had invented it yet. And I figured that if I could draw the schematic, I can build it. So eventually, I have a wall. We’re like, Okay, I have the schematic built. I know how it’s going to work. But I don’t have anyone to prototype it. And I don’t really know how to go to market with a prototype. I’ve had to use start manufacturing it. And I just came up with this idea. And I thought it was brilliant. But I had a huge wall of questions that was so debilitating.

Hillary Merwin  22:38

By identifying this gap in the process, he realized something else, there is an untapped need out there.

Joshua Aguirre  22:44

And that’s where the idea of advanced came to me helping people with an idea, create a business.

Hillary Merwin  22:53

Before he could start helping other people build businesses, he had to figure out well, how to build a business. Oh, the irony. Which brings us to our next point. There are people who have an idea and just stop there. They immediately think about all the obstacles and opportunities for failure, the lack of money, resources time, I’m honestly one of those people. Me too. But Joshua is not Joshua immediately started researching on the Internet, how to incorporate a business probably spent a little too much money looking to experts to help him and then realized he could figure it out himself. Like, obviously, you came up with the idea, but then wasn’t immediately just easy to get it going. Or were there some struggles along the way.

Joshua Aguirre  23:36

I think some of the struggles were like, you know, figuring out how to create a company in general, like what are the legal requirements, it’s not super clear. And so most of us default to some of the most popular places on the internet, which are not usually the best places to go. And so I I found myself down that path of incorporating and spending way too much money to do it. And you know, what I what I learned in that process is most of the things about a company can be done quite simply on your own. And if you just spent a little bit of time investigating or researching or using us nowadays as your resource, you know, we’re committed to helping people that don’t know what they’re doing when they start their own business, trying to navigate those those roads.

Hillary Merwin  24:33

Let’s take a beat because we want to invite you, our listeners to share your business ideas with us for the chance to get a free consultation from one of our business engineers live on the podcast, head to scaling side hustles.com and fill out the form. We’ll also include the link in our show notes. In the last episode, we’re talking specifically about limb analysis and like product market fit. And now talking about go to market strategy. Like, how are those two different if I’m a business owner? How do I is go to market strategy, it’s not a piece of paper that I have something written or what is my go to market strategy go

Joshua Aguirre  25:09

to market strategy is when you don’t yet have a business and you need to go to market. So you need to you have a service or a product, you have an idea for a service or product, you don’t necessarily have to have it developed. But you have to know like, how are you going to enter into the market. If the business is already in existence, then it would be considered a marketing strategy because you’re already in the market, but you need to adapt. What you know, whether we’re talking about going from Facebook to Tik Tok to NF Ts, you’re changing your marketing strategy, their

Jorge Luis Tellez Lopez  25:42

media is changing, we need to be able to innovate in our own processes, innovating or marketing, because actually, even social media, social media started in around 2007 hate. And that was the internet 2.0 A named internet 2.0 Like, TV was still like, hard. Right now we are close to the 3.0 where we have this centralization of media disinterest, elicitation of content. Now you can have, like, online assets. Now you can have like you have cryptocurrency. And actually we need to be able to pivot or marketing in those ways as well like understanding how Tiktok work, these new social media were with me is not only for nice and funny dancer sense. And then stupid stuff. Actually, there’s a lot of serious conversation that is happening now. Because actually, that’s the same that happened with Facebook, Facebook at the beginning was for just like college kids trying to show the pictures. Now there’s multimillion businesses having their pages created, but now is turning to Tik Tok to LinkedIn, to new ways of communication, that when we need our brands to be if we want to be relevant for our audiences,

Joshua Aguirre  27:13

right, and talking about like web 3.0, like marketing is changing dramatically using NFT technology, because big brands are creating their own NF Ts. And so one thing we have to look at is like how are we adapting our marketing strategies for all of these trends that are not going away, and we are either going to be left behind and web 2.0 And be those outdated people that were in web 1.0 You know, that refuse to adapt, or we’re going to adapt with the market and see how to how to fit our business model to the needs of the market.

Jorge Luis Tellez Lopez  27:49

Exactly. Exactly. You are completely right. And one of the things is that is not only the audience’s the way we consume media, the way we consume, like our products and services, like years ago used to go to a Walmart, Walgreens or whatever, like supermarket and you get things now you have Amazon, like, like after COVID All the way we use media, we the way that we consume products or services has changed so much the way we signed contracts, right now we we just sent the link to someone and they can sign a contract that gives you a property or, or to sign for a product services. And that’s amazing, because everything’s going so fast and the internet has made the like, have the tools for you so quick, that you need to be able to adapt, adapt yourself as a person and your brand. And of course, to adapt to the new mindset behind it. Because for instance, before our brands sell tells to the to the public, like, Hey, I have the product by now. It was the message when TV was like, long time ago, right now do you need to find you want to find a brand that really connects with you like that understands you like hey, you are having this pain. I understand your pain. I really know what is happening with you and your problem. So I have the solution. I am your friend. You want to talk to me talk to me and social media. Talk to me. If you want to see something funny about this product and services, I have these social media especially specially created for you so you have fun with my brand. And so brands are not any more one directional. Right now brands are need to be more tools to have two dimensions like where I can receive feedback from the customer and being able to transform myself Because if not, your brand is not going to be well anymore,

Joshua Aguirre  30:03

right? If if my customer is hanging out in the metaverse, I need to adapt to the changing times and figure out how to advertise in the metaverse, you know, and so that’s changing my marketing strategy. But if I’m creating a brand new company, and I identify my audience, my channels, the message that I want to communicate to them, then I need to develop like a step by step approach to how to penetrate that market and be heard and be seen.

Hillary Merwin  30:34

Do we have any, like resources we’re gonna get? Is there something that will guide?

Joshua Aguirre  30:40

Yeah, so we’re gonna, we’re gonna provide the template for the lamb inside of the show notes. And we’ll even have a tutorial there for you guys to kind of follow along and work on your own business model.

Valery Aguirre  30:54

And on a more serious note, when you said Metaverse, or you’re referencing, Dr. Strange is that is that multiverse?

Hillary Merwin  31:07

Mark Zuckerberg worldly created, right.

Joshua Aguirre  31:11

He coined the the term for his company Mehta, but he was trying to do that to be trendy, but he wasn’t first. So like we all know about the rule of being first. There were other companies that came out with their own version of a Metaverse, which is just a physical, a digital representation of our physical world where you can build upon it kind of like a video games, like simply the

Hillary Merwin  31:39

sim. Yeah.

Valery Aguirre  31:42

Not really, but yeah.

Jorge Luis Tellez Lopez  31:44

And it’s kind of confusing, because there’s a lot of people who actually are trying to and see it as like, like an ugly dog that no one wants to touch.

Hillary Merwin  31:58

It was an ugly dog that no one wants to touch what Facebook.

Jorge Luis Tellez Lopez  32:02

You see. Now the metaverse and the ugly Metaverse linear media. So because actually, that’s exactly what happened with Facebook. At the beginning, everyone wanted to Oh, no, that’s that’s just too dumb. Or maybe the elder people that like no, I don’t want to create a profile. I want everyone to know my information my life.

Joshua Aguirre  32:22

I really like Tom, I’m gonna stick to MySpace.

Jorge Luis Tellez Lopez  32:27

Yeah, and now, even my grandma has our Facebook profile. And they are able to connect because they will know and they understand that there is where it’s going. And and if you want to interact with people, we need to be in those places. He’s like, the metaverse is no more debt and new space and new channel so people can interact and and have a life like a new way to connect your life with all their lives

Hillary Merwin  32:58

but wasn’t him creating meta I don’t I’m actually don’t know if this is true or not. But like a response to people like leaving Facebook, I know that Facebook owns Instagram, but like, kind of like a rebranding almost or no, it was

Joshua Aguirre  33:10

it was a rebranding as far as I know, he you know, they realized that the social media trend is going downhill as the like this virtual reality these worlds are going uphill in trending. So they they wanted to capitalize on that move. I don’t think that they were that late to the game. But that’s what the media portrays is like, you know, they were third or whatever

Jorge Luis Tellez Lopez  33:37

I saw Facebook is doing it. Of course, they needed to react because a lot of people were doing it. That’s why they bought Oculus. They bought Oculus because they saw the opportunity. I right now, actually, I’m right now and I have an Oculus quest to. And he’s incredible all the things that you can do there how you can interact with people how you can actually have businesses because he’s not only for kids playing with guns. He’s also for you can have meetings and have more immersive experiences that maybe assume call or even you can brainstorm and brainstorm in the 3d space. So it’s really interesting how this world is going forward for collaboration and remote working with with the metaverse What does Oculus

Joshua Aguirre  34:30

Oculus has a VR headset?

Valery Aguirre  34:33

Oh, Ready Player One.

Hillary Merwin  34:34

Oh, like, like video games, real guns.

Joshua Aguirre  34:37

So So you’re saying that you want to stay in the real world, but the real world is the rear the rear wheel world. The real world is going to be filled with people wearing these

Hillary Merwin  34:48

guns. I don’t want to live in that world.

Valery Aguirre  34:50

Take me out of it. We’re gonna become the new hippie community. We’ll build a

Hillary Merwin  34:55

commune. Oh gosh.

Valery Aguirre  34:58

I’m with you Hill.

Hillary Merwin  34:59

Let’s escape. All technology.

Jorge Luis Tellez Lopez  35:04

Technology is not more than as the same as marketing is Isa booster of what is in your heart of what is in your soul. If there’s some people say, Oh, internet is terrible, because people is posting stupid stuff, but actually the the platform is not the problem. The problem is the people behind the platform. So it’s like, whoever has a profile on Facebook, Instagram, whatever the problem is, if this posting stupid stuff, of course, that’s making the platform bad, but you can use it for good you can use it for change the world, you can use a platform to showcase the way that you want to, like transform reality that when you can do want to do a better world how you were in a communicate your mission, your vision, how you’re gonna, like, make the difference today. So that’s why is like internet members, Facebook, social media, all these things are not more than channels or mediums or put your brand for for your personal brand for everything you do want to do in life. So yeah, the I don’t see because there’s a lot of people that also think that maybe their their satanic like, no, the technology’s bad, do you need to stay away. So the things that is better for you to see it that if you’re doing bad stuff in Facebook, you’re going to go there and just see naked people, of course, there’s going to be your problem, but he’s gonna be showing only what is your heart. But if you use it, well, it’s just a platform. It’s just a way for you to achieve your goals as well.

Hillary Merwin  36:49

I think we could get into a whole discussion about social media, I have a lot of thoughts.

Jorge Luis Tellez Lopez  36:53

It’s so funny, because I always feel that my brain is like a squirrel. So that’s just the way my mind works.

Joshua Aguirre  37:04

Yeah, so yeah, George, I want to get a little bit more personal. Because I know you so well, and where you come from, and the type of person that you used to be as someone that I don’t even know, Were you always this ambitious? Or did you have some sort of transformation?

Jorge Luis Tellez Lopez  37:23

Well, the thing is, that’s a long story. I’ll try to make it short. But actually, at the beginning, when I started in my careers, as a designer, I started having to be honest, I was a little a little crazy, I was a little disorganized. So I started hanging out with a lot of people from the advertising industry. So it was kind of sometimes a little hardcore with the parties. And so to be honest, at the beginning, since actually, right at when I was like, in the half of my career, like studying college, I studying getting to know these world. So I fall into really bad stuff like, like bad people sent Of course, my, my girlfriend wasn’t that happy with me in that moment. And, actually, that’s when we got one of the biggest impacts in our lives. And he was when when we got pregnant with my girlfriend. So, I was 21, she was 18. And we and I was like it right in the middle of my career. And at the beginning that like, make me seem to right moment when she came, that made me search the life was outside of me, like, it’s not all about me, it’s not all about my relationship with my girlfriend or with my friends. Now I have my to get my focus in my daughter, and I and that allows you also to experience another level of love that I was I never experienced. So when when she came to this world because I actually was going to be like, things that brought motivation to my life. But he was also on time, he was like for a couple two years. But since I started with this crazy life in marketing and everything. One of the things that brought me like was to actually leave my my my girlfriend, we weren’t married, but we have like a couple life. But I left her with my daughter, and it was actually really hard for all of us. But the thing is, I was so blinded by these worlds that I didn’t thought in the consequences, and I was still like John, stupid dude. But when I realized that I lost my family actually, that’s when I have, like a second crush in my life. The first one was my daughter. The second was one was this understanding that I was like, in a bad level of alcoholism, that I was like in these world that eating actually freed me Well, like I was satisfied in some kind of like having money having, like, pleasures of this world. But I started this, I didn’t feel I feel I felt empty. And when I came back to search for my wife, she was like, when I start, like blocking these world of craziness. And when I realized that I lost it, I lost her. I was terrified. I was, like, getting to depression, I was getting into new stuff to see that was able to give me some relief, but never did. So that’s actually when I found God. So he’s incredible how God like I was, to be honest, I tried, like several religions. And nothing actually satisfy that feeling that I needed something deeper, something more high level. So the way that I found out I was actually trying to search for a girl in church that I got a guy brought me in. And actually when I got there, this girl tells me like, Hey, God told me that you already have a wife. I was like, you know, actually, my wife moment was dating with, with another guy, they were super happy. This guy was super like, compared to me, I was nothing. So because he was like, high degree, well, family, he was wealthy, like there was hold these barrels that made me like, something like nothing compared to him. So she was happy with him. And I was like, No, she’s already happy. She’s almost getting married with someone else. So I don’t have any place I want to date with you. And she was like, No, God told me and I can get into any other relationship with you. I was like, frustrated, and actually start dating other girls. And I started dating one. And actually, she got pregnant, like, right, right, about one month after we started dating. So it was kind of frustrating, I was in a really dark moment. But at the same time, God was bringing these ideas to me with this new community communication with him. So I started falling in love with God, because he was able to pick me up from the dark side where I was. So in that moment, I started understanding that God wanted to clean me before like, and actually, literally, I felt that he told me that I needed to be clean, before getting back to her, but that it was an opportunity to recover her. So actually, when I start, like praying God and start getting deep in my relationship with Him, God was pulling some interested in her about me. And so it was kind of a of course, my daughter helped me a lot too. Because she was like, Oh, why are you what you’re not with daddy, while we’re doing like, so we actually got to use her in a big way for for accomplishing that. So it was it was nice to see how God and He of course, he was able to bring me another type of work. So I was I changed my word to another nicer place. When I was more control. I was able to start getting new friends in church. So I will start playing online. And like, and eventually I was able to connect with, with, with people with Christian better were also in the advertising industry. So I was able to start like also cleaning my life from these spots. And with the time I was it was a miracle because she we got together again, with my wife, of course, right six months right after that. We married I was not able to let her go again. So I did it so we can close. And God was able to little by little recover cells recover our relationship. God has been so good since then, and of course we still have challenges. We still have problems. But actually, God, he’s always been there. And I can’t imagine my life without God fighting by my side. And he’s been able to provide everything we needed. And also the joy and the happiness, that the light from the empty holes that I have in my heart. So I never needed alcohol or drugs anymore. Since since God brought God into my life. And now the thing is that, since then, I’ve been trying to actually that triggers these feelings inside of me to help the world to help people to help companies that have an impact in other in fields that really make a change that really, like create synergy between between the eternal mission and the world dimension that we have, I found actually that what is bringing me actually to this new stage in my life, where I’m bringing the this new mindset about understanding the essence of everything. Because sometimes when you start bringing these blocks of, of things from the outside, that brings noise to your life, and how you can start bringing this noise out how you can start cleaning these waves of your life, think into life as a way, when you get to God, God starts bringing this clean, they start cleaning your note. So it doesn’t like have like, wrong pitch. So it’s noise. So when when you like, start bringing this noise, you start bringing, like,

Jorge Luis Tellez Lopez  46:59

bringing people away from you. But when you clean your wave, as God created your life, you are able to actually start bringing people with the music of your soul. So it’s interesting how actually, that works for grants as well. One, that’s one of the things that is bringing me to this new point that I understand that if if you can go back to the soul of your brand, like understanding how is meant to be how is the wave of your brand, how is the wave of your of your mind or your soul, you can create this beautiful harmony for your, for other people for your customers. So I’ve been trying to set these theory and and these, like, new mindsets, so I can help people with those actually going to start with my youtube channel soon. So you’re going to be more happy, you’re going to be able to create more beautiful energy and beautiful things that are coming to your life and to your brand. And to your whatever do you do?

Joshua Aguirre  48:09

So this is pretty amazing. And let me let me kind of summarize here. So you, you have these crazy hardcore party experiences in your big media company that used to work with, then you had this traumatic shift in your life, where you have a kid you lost the love of your life, recovered the love of your life. And now you start a company that allows you to help impact the world with all the skills that you’ve been collecting over the years. Yep, that’s correct. It’s beautiful.

Joshua Aguirre  48:46

It’s a really beautiful testimony.

Hillary Merwin  48:49

Yeah, thanks for getting personal with us storage that was really beautiful. I think it shows that just on the outside, someone can have created a business or built a brand, but you don’t know what are the experiences that made them the person that they are. And it’s really cool to hear that and

Jorge Luis Tellez Lopez  49:05

well, I know Josh that you have created actually really impactful projects in and I’m so glad that being working with you these time and I’ve seen how the you have felt like the Joshua way, bro. And have you have helped several companies understanding their culture, understanding, like everything they have to do to create this specific environment for growth. So I’m really happy to learn that from you. Can you let me know what trigger that envision in your life or what are those pain points that brought you to the guy that you are now?
